Makin' some changes around here

I haven't posted in awhile because I wanted to post my recent work.... on a BRAND new Blog coming soon! Be on the look out for a new design with much larger photos, comment section and more information... all on a new address! I have a "major award" {couldn't resist saying that} to announce on the new Blog for everyone who participates in signing up again for auto updates!

So, stay tuned for instructions on where to go because you won't be coming back here for very long. Should happen in the next 2-3 weeks. Also, I will be announcing a new Model search on the new blog as well...

Children's Mini Session

So... normally, I hold back on my absolute favorite photo till after the parents see their Gallery. However, because I made the family hike from one side of Longwood Gardens to the other side just for this meadow shot, I have to, need to, want to, post this photograph. Beautiful Mama is pregnant and walking in heels because she rushed from work and super sweet Dad is carrying my props. The Star of the Show is just as happy and lovely as can be. The way the sun is creating a halo around her head, wildflowers in the background and her perfect pose and beauty just melts my heart. Thank you "V" Family for being such great troopers and hiking all that way just for my Meadow shot. I think it was worth it... Warmly, Shannon

Children's Mini Session

This is my second time photographing the "D" Family and the boys have grown so much! The kids were such troopers being that it was still a humid night and the parents were troopers as well when I pulled out the Ginormous lollipops! It was a blessing and a curse because it kept the kids in one place but they didn't want to let them go! ;-) I had a blast and I captured many smiles that evening! Enjoy the "D" Family! Office will be Closed for Vacay

I will be closing the office Saturday, July 3rd through Monday, July 12th. All emails and phone calls will be returned on Tuesday, July 13th. My DH, Joe, and I are taking a much needed break from reality. ;-) Please make sure all orders are placed before I leave. Otherwise, we will have to wait till after I return.

Local Auction to benefit Copeland Run

Hello my Readers! I've been neglecting my Blog! It has been a crazy Spring and I hope everyone enjoyed the Bea-U-tiful weather we had for Easter!

I am excited to be donating a Package to the local Copeland Run Academy school for Children which is a Non-Profit Educational Corporation. To help offset school expenses they hold an annual Silent Auction. This year's Auction will go towards a new playground for the children. The Silent Auction will be held in Downingtown, PA on April 24th, 2010 at the United Sports Training Center.

I will be donating a Mini Session, 2 Digi Negatives, 8x10 Art Print and a custom Frame-Love 8x10 frame.

Exciting News: I'm being Featured!

It is officially 2 years since I started this adventure and I am so blessed to have met so many wonderfuly people along the way. My business is strictly by word of mouth. I do not advertise in publications, and so I have grown only because of such great people like yourselves spreading the word.

Well... one of the professional labs I use for my products contacted me about an Image Box I recently submitted. They would like to feature it at WPPI: Wedding & Portrait Photographers International. It is one of the largest vendor and training venues for Professional Photographers. You can find out about WPPI here clicking here to go to the WPPI homepage.

Now, I can only take partial credit. The template was professionally designed by Sarah Gourdie a designer and photographer but the images are mine! ;-) My images will be in front of thousands! of photographers. This is Hollywood for us Photographers where the biggest and brightest of the industry will be there.

Announcing Mini Sessions

Well, I hope you are enjoying the nice sunny weather today! Seems like the rest of the week is going to be interesting with mix of rain and/or snow.

I have made a few changes for 2010. I have changed my Collection pricing to include more digital negatives and some of the Collections offer a print credit to use as the Client would like. I think this is working out nicely because the client gets to make more choices of what suits *your* needs.

I will also be offering Mini Sessions- permanently now. Mini sessions are $50 for a 45 minute session. Please note, Mini Sessions will be held on Fridays only. You will be shown 6-10 images in your online Private Gallery. This is perfect for: Pregnancy sessions, 6-9 month old, one year and 18 month old, toddler and just because you want to update your wall with a few new photographs. There is a $150 minimum order for Mini Sessions.

Just a note, April is Booked! If you are Pregnant and expecting, please contact me before your Baby arrives to book your baby's Newborn session. This ensures that I will be available when the baby is 3-10 days New.

And just because I can't post without a picture, here is our little boy: Remy LeBeau! ;-)
He is a Toy Poodle and we got him the day after Christmas when he was 8 weeks old. He is now 4 months old and he is such a Joy to have and super smart! He knows fetch, give, sit, stay, down, come and shake! Excuse the haircut- Mommy did the best she could with a wiggly, wild dog. ;-)

I hope everyone had a blessed Holiday with your Loved One's! The year is almost at an end! Now, my question is, what is the proper way to say 2010? Do you say
Twenty-ten or Two thousand and ten? lol!

I will be re-evaluating my Business investments for Clients and streamlining the products. Meaning, a better investment for you while still receiving the best quality products. For now, I will only be accepting Newborn Sessions from
Jan - March. Children Sessions will resume in April. * However, I might do some Winter Snow Sessions for Children so stay tuned... the weather people keep saying we will be having a snowy winter so I might just offer a unique Children's photo opportunity in the snow!

** Just a reminder, I have a few people signed up for the auto Blog updates but I need you to confirm the subscription. Please be sure to open the email and click on the link to confirm- otherwise you will not receive any updates! ;-(

*** Another reminder, Newborn sessions should be scheduled BEFORE you give birth so I may "reserve" the potential due date of your Miracle. Newborn sessions should take place when your baby is 3-9 days new! This is the PERFECT time in their little lives to photograph them!

Newborn Session: Miss S. 7 days new

Long overdue for a posting- shame on me! I was there when she gave birth too! It just so happened that I had off from work that day and got the call at 6:30am that they were headed over to the hospital. It was a blessing to be there for her since this was her first. So, I am self-proclaimed Auntie Shan. I bought her the cutest little jacket from Gap for Christmas. I'm telling you she is gonna be one stylin' chick with an Aunt like me shopping for her! ;-)

The Mini Session that was held this past Sunday at Fairville Inn, Chadd's Ford turned out to be a great day! I got to meet some new, lovely people and their beautiful families. Mini-Session info update

Just wanted to clarify a few things regarding the Mini-Session. This is really for Families with younger children. The session will focus primarily on the children with the parents as the "props". This is not for H.S. Seniors, extended family/reunion type, newborns or children under 6 months of age (your baby should be able to sit on their own).

The retainer is non-refundable except for bad weather. Finger's crossed!

I have had numerous inquiries and requests for purchasing only Digital Images. I have bounced this thought around many times and I think I have come up with a reasonable solution for all parties...? I refuse to be the "Shoot'n Burn" type of photographer. A large part of my Art is the photograph you hold in your hand or place on your work desk or hang in the Living Room for all to see. I can't control if you choose to have your images printed at the local pharmacy for .20cents. I give you my preference for online printing Labs but ultimately it comes down to you. I try to educate my clients that there really is a difference in printing labs. The online Labs that I use and refer my clients to are calibrated by professionals, using high quality inks and archival photographic paper.

However, I know more and more people are carrying around their iphones, mini cameras or something similiar with family and friends photographs saved on the device, ready to whip out of their purse to share on a whim.

And so, I have reliquished some control, to satisfy the Digital world clients while still giving you a taste of Photographic Art in its finest form.

Newborn Session Sneak Peek II: Mister C. 5 Days New

A word for new parents: it is so very important that you schedule your newborn session while your baby is still very young. Notice how curly Mister C is in the photograph? You cannot achieve the same results with a Newborn that is older than 2 weeks. They grow VERY quickly out of the curly stage!

Where you can bring your children to a designated spot and have a custom and creative mini-photo session by me. This is perfect for those who are too busy for a complete session or for the client who wants just a few photographs and not invest in a complete package.

However, I need your help in finding the perfect spot. I am looking to have the Mini-Sessions this Fall 2009.

Here you go! I did something alittle different a did 2 storyboards b/c I thought they told a story. I love documentary photography. In the first one, I love the capture of Mom blowing bubbles and Mister L enraptured by them. I'm making some changes to the Product Catalog and therefore the Collections are changing. I am streamlining my Albums and will only be offering one type. This is from a new Company that is more cost effective for you and me. Therefore, this reflects a change in pricing (better for you- yeah!). However, I have not compromised on quality or style! I hope everyone had a beautiful Holiday. My DH and I hosted the Christmas Dinner in our new house and it was great to sit back and relax afterwards. Our Holiday movie to watch was Batman- The Dark Knight. My DH couldn't wait to watch it any longer! I made him wait till Christmas to open the movie. lol. I gotta say, it is an awesome movie. It was a beautiful morning and so we started out in town where I found an old green garage door and the building was boarded up. My friend was like we are going here? To the photographer- an abandoned building makes for an incrediable backdrop. We than headed over to a beautiful park with stone walls and a covered bridge. Policy Update

After long consideration, I have decided to offer Digital Negatives in packages. With all the technology available today, I felt it would best suit myself and you (the client) if you have digital negatives. You'll be able to post them on your Myspace, show them on your camera phone, email to relatives or print out (30) 5x7's -if that's what you wish. However, I will be very strict about Copyright Laws. This is to protect my Name and Livelihood. You will have a "Limited Use License." This means you may only print them up to size 8x10 and not alter the images in anyway. You will not be given full-resolution files and I will not guarentee the size beyond an 8x10. All enlargements must be ordered through S.M.P., where I have complete control over the quality of the image using the original full-resolution file.
( Even though you bought the digital negative, the Copyright still belongs to Shannon Marie Photography.) This information is to educate you, the Client, and to protect my business. Thank you for understanding!

She was such the sweetest little thing, and I mean little, only 6 lbs and some ounces! She was so cute, she would curl into a little ball and put her hands near her ears. She was a great sleeper until I came along and she kept wanting to wake up- but I didn't let you! wink. Her parents have this fantastic old farmhouse full of character and so I had to use the house as a prop. I put little Miss M. into the basket and onto the deep windowsill. A Tea Party for a 4 Year Old

Retainer Fee includes the time, travel and talent for the photographer; this does not include fee's for prints. A Travel Fee will apply if the distance is longer than a 30 mile radius. Your session will last approx 2 hours for one location- no rush! Additional locations will incur a travel fee. Multiple outfits are encouraged and don't be shy to ask- I would love the oppurtunity to help pick out outfits! Session Fee: * Please email or call for the latest Promotion! Payment must be made prior to the scheduled session to hold your time.
